Blockbuster Express - Cheap DVD rentals for $1 from a local Kiosk
69Looking for cheap DVDs to rent?
Blockbuster Express is a kiosk based movie rental service where you get recently released movies to rent for $1. Online DVD renting has become really convenient, but even they cannot boast the bargain Blockbuster Express can claim. You have seen other competitiors in this market, such as the Red Box movie rental kiosk. These two services give us movie rentals 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year if we like.
Compare that to your brick and mortar stores that have fixed hours, late fees and prices that are sometimes two to three times as much and you can see how Blockbuster exporess can look forward to a rapid growth in its business model.
Sure, the box won't have that movie you loved from last year but never got a chance to see. So there is a limit to the goodness, but for recently released titles, the last 4-6 months or so, this is the best place to look.
How you get the DVD to rent
The kiosk for Blockbuster has an amazingly easy to use touch screen that will allow you to easily and quickly navigate your way through the rental process. If you are renting for the first time it asks you for your name address and e-mail information. This is not a reason for concern as so far the only communication I have had is by e-mail, where they offer free dvd rent opportunities.
After you take care of the preliminaries you are presented a screen with the titles available at this kiosk. You may rent up to 3 movies per day, with the right to view these until 9 PM the following day before they must be returned. If you are late there is a $1 per day fee for each DVD until you return them to the kiosk.
Once you tell the machine you have selected the DVD or DVDs tyou wish to rent it will create a record of your rental and then deliver to you the movies you have selected. These movies are in slim line cases and will be presented to you in a slot near the bottol of the machine. You will use this same slot when you return the DVDs after viewing.
Returning the rented DVDs
Returning your DVDs to the kiosk is as simple as renting them. When you return to the kiosk you select the option to return DVDs. Then you will be instructed to insert the DVDs one at a time into a slot where the DVD number is read and matched against the rental record to credit your record for that return. You will see on the screen this process is taking place, which assures you the return is accepted.
Top New Release Titles available to rent
Blockbuster Express as well as Red Box rely on their relationships with the major movie studios to deliver the latest titles of DVDs to rent. It would not be easy for me to list the titles for rent as they are numerous and will change rapidly. If you are curious about what you can find inside your local kiosk you can look at Blockbuster Express online.
Film rental convenience is key
In order to compete with services such as Net Flix, which allows you to rent from home or stream movies to your televiusion, the Blockbuster express experience has to be one of ultimate convenience. If there is a hitch people will choose to not frequent the kiosk. Blockbuster has done us a service in the way they have this scenario set for our ease of use.
You have never had DVD rental so easy. With these units popping up at the front of retail establishments with established foot traffic the potential for grand success is high. You will soon hear your friends talkjing aobut this and you can share your knowledge from this hub to others who are curious.

Great Hub Dobson! This is a great idea for Blockbuster, considering how much easier it is to get on netflix and watch movies, right from your home. No going out necessary. I have yet to use one of these kiosks, but I heard they are neat and convenient. I wonder if anyone has gone to a kiosk to rent a movie they were dying to see, only to find that the kiosk was sold out of that movie?
